PATTERN REVIEW

BACK ZIPPERED HOODED BABY SWEATER

I love this little hooded sweater.  I made this for one of my little ones many years ago and it's still a favorite.  The pattern works up rather quickly; the only downfall is sewing the zipper in (at least for me)!  That task is right up there with weaving in the ends. 😏
It's well worth the time and effort in the end though.

This sweater is a size 18months however the pattern includes directions for sizes 6 and 12 months as well.

( The shoulders are actually even although you can't tell it by this picture.  I didn't catch that until I went to post it! LOL)

The sweater was made with Mary Maxim Twinke yarn in Soft Plum and needle sizes 3 & 5.  I used circular size 3 needles for the trim around the face.

This is a paid pattern from Mary Maxim.  If you're interested in making one yourself you can find the pattern at

Happy Knitting, have a fantastic day!

DUH-NUH BIRTHDAY CARD

This is a great card to make in a pinch (a.k.a. - at the last minute!).

I created a sky using My Favorite Things Mini Cloud Stencil and Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass distress ink. I'm positively obsessed with creating these clouds; so much fun! I love the way they look even though I do get a little heavy-handed with the ink; something I need to work on.

The waves were created using the waves from Lawn Fawn's "Shadow Box Card Ocean Add-On." I used Lawn Fawn's "Duh-Nuh" stamp set and fussy-cut the shark, shark fins and small fish by hand.  The images were colored with Copic markers.  The birds are from Lawn Fawn's "Happy Village."

I rounded the corners of the card base with the 1/2" CROP-A-DILE CORNER CHOMPER, inked it up with Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress Ink and drew a speech bubble in the lower left-hand corner where I stamped my birthday "text" message.

I love this little stamp set. It's perfect for a masculine card or for pre-teen/teenage years, which are always a challenge for me in the world of card-making.

Have a JAWSOME day and Happy Crafting!

PATTERN REVIEW

DRAGONFLY PONCHO I

I was recently asked if I could make three child-size ponchos.  This is the first one I made.  I used the Dragonfly Poncho pattern that I had saved to my Pinterest board quite some time ago.  I really like this pattern - it works up quickly and is very easy to follow.

This was made to fit a child's size 10/12 (roughly). I used Red Heart Ombre yarn in Fuschia with a size I crochet hook.  Additional rows were added to the neckline for a better fit; other than that I worked the pattern as written.  I would recommend this pattern - I enjoyed working it up and am quite pleased with the end result.

Have a fantastic day and Happy Crocheting!

EASTER CARDS 2019

I have a few more Easter cards to share with you.

This card was made using Crafty Secrets "Easter Joy" stamp set.  The images were colored with Copic markers and attached to the card front using Stampin' Up dimensionals.  I used My Favorite Things "Circle Trio Shaker Window and Frame" dies to frame the bunnies; a perfect fit for these sweet little ones.  The paper is from Lawn Fawn's paper pack "Spiffy Speckles."

This card features My Favorite Things "Some Bunny Sweet" stamp set.   The images were framed using MFT's  "Blueprints 27 Die-namics" and were colored with Copic markers.

This last card was made using an old wooden stamp that I have had for many years (sorry, not sure of the company). The paper is from Lawn Fawn's "Spiffy Speckles" and "Watercolor Wishes" paper packs. The verse John 3:16 is stamped inside the card. The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils.

As always, thanks for looking and have a fantastic day!

EASTER BUNNIES

EASTER BUNNIES

A late post I know; but life has a way of taking over!

These are a few of my Easter cards for 2019. These cards were made using My Favorite Things Easter Bunnies Stamp Set.  I love these little bunnies!  They're just so sweet.

I colored the images with my Prismacolor pencils. I love the soft tones you can get with them.  I used My Favorite Things cloud stencil to add a sky to the background and added some distress ink to the bottom of the design for a little hill for the bunnies to sit/stand on.

The images were stamped directly onto the "egg" created with Lawn Fawn's Outside In Easter Egg Stackables and then framed with the coordinating Easter Egg Frames Dies.

The jelly beans are from Lawn Fawn's Eggstra Special Easter stamp set.  And then of course as a finishing touch I added Wink of  Stella glitter to each of the card fronts - just to give it that little something extra! 😊

Thanks for looking. Have a fantastic day and Happy Crafting!
